Jane Clarke (on the right) was awarded the Ladies County Road Runner of the Year 2006 trophy at the Wymondham 10k event on New Year's Day. Jane Clarke (46) had an exceptional year winning three of the County road running championships: 5k, 10k, 10 miles. A PB for 5k (17.34) at Wroxham in August took her to the top of the UK women's 5K rankings for the year. An invitation for an elite start at the Women's Hydro Active Challenge in Hyde Park provided opportunity to run in a world class field and Jane finished a very creditable 17th. Her year ended on a high when she was selected to represent England in the British and Irish Masters International Cross Country Championships. She ran a storming race to win the gold medal in her age group and finish 4th overall. Jane is now looking forward to going to Helsinki in March to take part in the European Indoor Track and Field Championships where she will compete in the 3000 metres and Cross Country events for Great Britain.....top of page
