On a beautiful bright frosty cold morning starting at Buxton Primary School, 185 runners mainly in fancy dress ran the 5th Buxton Christmas 5k Fun Run. The multi terrain run, stretching along the Bure Valley railway path onto public footpaths, through the woods to Oxnead Mill and back onto the Bure Valley path, makes a very scenic course.

First home across the line together were Adam Lewis and Richard Sales, both from City of Norwich AC, both in fancy dress outfits which did not seem to slow them down, posting a respectable time of 18 minutes 09 seconds. Pete Johnson from Norfolk Gazelles AC returned home in 3rd place in a time of 19mins 00secs with Andy Hicks only 4 seconds behind in 4th place.

Deana Parfitt also from Norfolk Gazelles AC was the first female across the line in a time of 20mins 50secs. Sandie Pottage from Cotishall Jaguars RC was 2nd in 22mins 23secs with Marian Costello in 3rd place in 23mins 02secs.

First family home to win the large hamper were the Laddiman's family Hazel, Stephen and Ben but they kindly donated the hamper back to raise more money by having an auction.

In the children's races the over 10 to 15 year olds for the boys was won by Josh Heffer and for the girls by Charlotte Hicks: in the under 10 year olds the winner of the boys' race was Daniel Fuller and the girls' winner was Elizabeth Cooper.
